FOR lewd remarks made against single mothers, and for body-shaming a female former staff member, Pasig congressional bet Christian Sia now finds himself facing an election disqualification case.
The Commission on Elections (Comelec) Task Force SAFE (Safeguarding Against Fear and Exclusion in Elections) today filed a petition for disqualification against Sia for two instances of lewd and inappropriate remarks against women caught on video and became viral.
The first video showed Sia during campaign sorties making “sleeping” comments against single mothers, while the other showed him body-shaming a former member of his staff.
Comelec Task Force SAFE chief Sonia Wee-Lozada said both incidents were part of their petition for disqualification against Sia.
“‘Use of foul language is prohibited, avoid them. We will also prevent discrimination against women, PWD, elderly, and other vulnerable sectors. The stage should not be used [for that]. And in fact, we are saying to avoid campaign jingles with double meaning,” Garcia pointed out.
