To provide innovation and technology aimed to improve the agricultural economy in the Philippines will be the focus of this year’s Livestock Philippines and Aquaculture Philippines hosted by Informa Markets in collaboration with Department of Agriculture (DA).
Set to happen at the World Trade Center in Pasay City from May 22 to 24, 2024, the three-day event offers free admission to anyone who wish to update their knowledge in either aquaculture or livestock industry, or both.
Various exhibitors are expected to each provide their in-depth technical discussions for the livestock and aquaculture market. On the government side, the DA, including the Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI), National Dairy Authority, Philippine Carabao Center, Agricultural Training Institute, and National Meat Inspection Service (NMIS), will discuss relevant topics pertaining to the agricultural sector.
An Aquaculture Conference is scheduled on the second day of the summit where industry professionals will gather to share their expertise, knowledge, as well as discuss critical aquaculture topics and explore innovative industry solutions. Alongside this is the Biosecurity Asia Forum where different speakers from Thailand, Singapore, and the Philippines will exclusively discuss up-to-date biosecurity practices, government policies, and other biosecurity strategies and approaches to different sectors.
A sustainability forum will happen on the third day (May 24) of the summit to raise awareness on sustainability, particularly focusing on sustainable approaches in the livestock, poultry, ruminant, and aquaculture sectors. Key persons from featured sustainability partners, Prestige Paper Products and Central Luzon State University will hold their respective panel dicussions regarding their sustainability campaign.
Also to happen in the summit is a roundtable dialogue on swine and layer sectors with experts from ASEAN Associations from various countries like Malaysia, Myanmar, Cambodia, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, and the Philippines.
Informa Markets in the Philippines Country General Manager Rungphech “Rose” Chitanuwat said that they are closely working with the DA in bringing in international speakers experts who can share their knowledge so the agency can create updated policies for the agriculture sector. “Especially now that their challenge is to get every farm into biosecurity.”
