KINUMPIRMA ng Department of Justice na may natanggap na online tip ang Office of Cybercrime (OOC) nito hinggil sa umano’y planong pagpatay kay presidential aspirant dating Senador Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr.
Gayunman, sinabi ni Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra na patuloy pa ring biniberipika ng DOJ ang nasabing impormasyon.
“The OOC has already requested the preservation of the suspect account. The DOJ, on the other hand, has directed the NBI to validate the tip. Pending verification,” ayon kay Gueverra.
“We are keeping other details confidential for security reasons,” dagdag nito.
Sa isang TikTok post umano na ipinarating sa OOC ay makikita ang mga katagang “WE ARE meeting every day to plan for BBM’s assassination. Get ready.”
Nabatid din na sumulat na si DOJ-OOC officer-in-charge Atty. Charito Zamora sa Tiktok Law Enforcement Outreach Trust and Safety, upang huwag alisin ang ano mang impormasyon na may kaugnayan sa may-ari ng account na itinuturong naglabas ng online threat laban sa dating senador.
Tiwala naman ni Guevarra sa mabilis na pag-aksyon ng OOC nang matanggap ang sinasabing kill plot.
“The NBI will give priority attention to any validated information pertaining to a threat to the personal security of any presidential aspirant,” diin ni Guevarra.
Wala pang natatanggap ang DOJ na ano mang katulad na impormasyon ng pagbabanta sa buhay ng iba pang kandidato sa national position.
Sa isang pahayag, sinabi naman ni Atty. Vic Rodriguez, chief of staff ni Marcos, na kanilang ikinalugod ang agarang pag-aksyon ng OOC ngunit hindi sila nagpapatinag sa nasabing pagbabanta.
“While the report on the assassination plot is concerning, we are not cowered by such threat. Bongbong shall continue to personally deliver his message around the country with firm resolve to unify the nation,” ayon sa pahayag ni Rodriguez.
