Protocol violators accosted in Pasig City

A TOTAL of 45 individuals, which include minors, were accosted for celebrating a birthday party in violation of quarantine health and safety protocols in Pasig City the other night.

The violators were caught celebrating at the Royana Events Place located at No. 55 Axis Road, Brgy. Kalawaan, Pasig City around midnight of August 12..

According to report, elements of Sub-Station 4 led by PLt. Julio Valle Jr., together with members of BSF-Kalawaan, arrested Russel Neverio y Dante, 21 years old, single, and caretaker who resides at the resort; Mario Soriano y Villa Gonzalo, 55 years old, married, the resort’s assistant caretaker and residing at Sta. Lucia Street, Purok 2, Peñafrancia, Barangay Cupang, Antipolo City ,and Vicente Ang y Dante, Jr., 59 years old, businessman and a resident of 3486 Fonda St. Brgy. Pinagkaisahan, Makati City, for violating R.A. 11332, curfew hours and social gathering along with 42 other guests who rented the place.

A fourth suspect, Ronald Ang y Barrera, of legal age and allegedly the resort owner, remains at large.

The arrest stemmed from a call of a concerned citizen who informed authorities about the gathering.

The protocol violators were brought to the Kalawaan Covered Court for proper documentation in the presence of PCol. Roman Arugay, Pasig City Chief of Police, and Barangay Kagawad Louie Afable. The three suspects were brought to Kalawaan Police Sub Station/ SS4 for filing of appropriate charges.

Meanwhile, the 42 violators were brought to the Child’s Hope Hospital along Alcalde Street, Barangay Kapasigan, Pasig City, and underwent Antigen test to determine if any of them are infected with COVID-19.

The violators will be released after antigen testing while the three arrested suspects were subjected to inquest proceedings before the Pasig City Prosecutor’s Office.

Appropriate charges will also be filed against the suspect who remains at-large.

Violation of R.A. 11332 in relation to Section 2 of the IATF Omnibus Guidelines on the Implementation of Community Quarantine in the Philippines will be filed against the involved personalities.
