PERSONNEL from the Philippine National Police (PNP) Police Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) destroyed a total of 22,500 pieces of fully grown marijuana plants and 420 kilograms of dried marijuana leaves discovered in seven plantation sites in the mountainous area of Barangay Loccong in Kalinga.
Based on a report from the PDEG headed by BGen. Remus Medina, PNP and PDEA personnel eradicated a total of P95-million worth of marijuana plants in Tinglayan, Kalinga on Thursday, August 5.

PNP Chief, Police General Guillermo Eleazar lauded the groups involved in the operation and at the same time tasked the local police to conduct follow-up investigation to identify the cultivators of the plantations, which have a total estimated land area of 22,500 square meters.
He commended the team effort and cooperation between the PNP and PDEA operatives which resulted in the successful operation.
The PNP Chief also stressed the commitment of the agencies in relentlessly waging the war on drugs.
“Hinihingi namin ang tulong at suporta ng publiko upang mas maging matagumpay ang aming kampanya kontra droga,” he added.
