NAHARANG ng Bureau of Customs (BOC) Port of NAIA ang tinatayang aabot sa halos P5.2 milyong halaga ng shabu na tinangkang ipuslit palabas ng bansa.
Katuwang ng BOC ang Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) at NAIA Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group (NAIA-IADIGT) nang maharang ang tatlong bagahe na naglalaman ng 763 gramo ng shabu na may kabuuang halagang aabot sa P5,188,400 sa DHL warehouse.
Ayon sa BOC, nakalagay ito sa birdhouse, shuttlecock casing, at figure trimmer twister twist.
Tinangka itong i-export sa Bahrain, United Kingdom at Australia.
Alinsunod sa Customs Administrative Order No. 03-2020, ang mga pakete ay itinurn over sa PDEA ngayong araw, Hulyo 30, 2021 para sa profiling, case building at pagsasampa ng reklamo laban sa mga violators.
Ang mga suspek ay mahaharap sa paglabag sa R.A. 9165 o mas kilala bilang “Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002″ at R.A. 10863 o “Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (CMTA) of 2016” partikular ang Section1401 (Unlawful Importation and Exportation) na nauugnay sa Section 119 (d) ng nasabing batas.
“Aside from criminal prosecution of the violators, corresponding seizure and forfeiture proceedings shall be instituted against the subject packages for violation of Paragraph (f) of Section 1113 in relation to Paragraph (d) Section 119 of the CMTA.” ayon sa BOC.
