Phil Army’s 302nd IB joins “Dagyawan sa Barangay” in Negros Oriental

CAMP LEON KILAT, Tanjay City, Negros Oriental – The 302nd Infantry Achiever joined the “Dagyawan sa Barangay” or “Talakayan ng Mamamayan” held at the Municipal Covered Court in Barangay Poblacion, Manjuyod, Negros Oriental.

“Dagyawan sa Barangay” is anchored on the principle of a participatory governance and with the theme: “Solusyon ng Mamamayan, Aksyon ng Pamahalaan.” This is a program of the NOTF-ELCAC, specifically, Basic Services Cluster and PLEDS Cluster.

In this activity, present issues and concerns of the barangay are be addressed by concerned government agencies.

During the activity important matters were raised by no other than Barangay Chairman of Panciao Hon. Gretchen Catubig.

She mentioned during the presentation of output the different issues like the purchase of dump truck and ambulance to be utilized by the locals, electrification of some Sitios of the Barangay lack of farm equipment and machineries for the agricultural requirements of the farmers, construction of drainage system and multi-purpose building, and the concrete pavement for a five hundred-meter (500) road that will benefit the populace of her Barangay.

Concerned agencies acknowledged these issues and pledged to undertake necessary actions to solve these matters.

Meanwhile Col Peña said in his message, “We are all involved in solving the insurgency problem from the national agencies down to Sitio levels of the Barangay. With our unity, we will be able to end the Local Communist Armed Conflict in our areas”.

“Again, we are calling your support; the military cannot defeat the insurgency alone. Support your LGU in ending this problem, with God and your outmost cooperation surely, we will be able to end this 5-decade old insurgency problem.” Peña stressed.
