1 dead, 4 others wounded during onslaught of typhoon Ulysses

Ulysses’ onslaught has claimed its first casualty as its continuous to hammered most part of Luzon.

At least one individual has reportedly died while four others were injured in Camarines Norte.

Strong winds with heavy incessant rains brought by Ulysses persisted overnight since it was initially felt in Daet, Camarines Norte around 7 p.m. on Wednesday.

The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) said about more than 1,000 families were evacuated from low lying areas and landslide prone areas in all barangays of the town.

Some residents were already trapped inside their homes as floodwaters suddenly rose from waist to head deep of flooding.

Nearly 20 houses were damaged in Barangay Bagasbas where residents already left the area while several have chosen to remain.

The local government has started its initial inspection to determine the extent of the damage.
