Severe and critical COVID-19 patients now at 1,006 — DOH

AROUND 1,006 COVID-19 patients, or about 14.3 percent of total COVID-19 admissions, that are currently in hospitals were considered severe and critical.

According to the National COVID-19 Case Bulletin released by the Department of Health (DOH) today, March 14, 2022, out of the total 3,598 ICU beds allotted for COVID-19 patients, 704 or 19.6 percent are currently occupied.

Meanwhile, 17.2 percent or 4,648 out of the 27,021 non-ICU COVID-19 beds are being used.

From March 7 up to March 13, the DOH said a total of 4,131 new COVID-19 cases were recorded in the country.

Also, the average number of new cases daily for this week has reached 590, which is 35-percent lower compared to the number of cases registered from February 28 to March 6, 2022.

In terms of the number of new cases recorded, three or 0.07 percent of the new cases are currently severe or critical cases.

Also, 591 COVID-19 fatalities were recorded for the past week.

The DOH also reported that 64.5 million individuals or 71.71 percent of the target population are already vaccinated against COVID-19, while 11.2 million have already received their booster shots.
