Optum Philippines caps Year 2025 with major national and regional accolades

Optum Philippines closed 2025 on a high note after earning three major recognitions that underscore its growing influence in both the health care and business sectors, as well as its reputation as an employer of choice.

The organization was named among the Best Employers in the Philippines by the Philippine Daily Inquirer and global research firm Statista, received multiple honors from the Asia Pacific Enterprise Awards (APEA), and was recognized as Exporter of the Year by the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA). Together, the awards highlight Optum’s focus on people-first leadership, innovation, and its broader mission of helping people live healthier lives while making health systems work better.

“We are truly honored to receive these recognitions as we conclude a successful 2025, which reflects how Optum continues to champion Filipino health care talent on the global stage,” said Samarth Mathur, managing director of Optum Philippines and Puerto Rico. “We place great value on leadership and empowering our people to grow, both professionally and personally.”

Recognition as a top employer

In September, Optum Philippines was included in the Best Employers in the Philippines list compiled by the Philippine Daily Inquirer and Statista. The ranking covers 300 organizations across government agencies, public institutions, and non-traditional workplaces, based on surveys that gathered around 700,000 employee recommendations nationwide.

Optum ranked 103rd this year, climbing 13 spots from its previous position—an improvement that reflects its continued expansion and employee engagement efforts. The recognition further cements Optum’s position as the country’s largest health care global capability center, supporting international operations through Filipino talent.

Multiple honors from APEA

The company also secured three awards at this year’s Asia Pacific Enterprise Awards under the Healthcare, Pharmaceutical, and Biotechnology category: Corporate Excellence, Fast Enterprise, and Inspirational Brand. The APEA honors organizations that demonstrate strong business performance, effective talent development, and positive brand impact across the region.

This marks the second consecutive year that Optum has been recognized by APEA, signaling consistency in its leadership approach and commitment to integrity, compassion, and innovation across its operations.

Exporter of the Year from PEZA

Capping off the year, Optum Philippines received the Exporter of the Year Award during PEZA’s 30th Investors’ Recognition Night. The award is based on PEZA’s Ecozone Monthly Performance Report and recognizes companies that make significant contributions to national economic growth while promoting innovation, sustainability, and responsible corporate citizenship.

As 2026 approaches, Optum Philippines said it remains focused on elevating global health care and business standards, with Filipino professionals playing a central role in delivering transformative solutions worldwide.
