THE Department of Health (DOH) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said that as of August 29, 2021, only 0.0017 percent out of 13.8 million fully vaccinated individuals were infected with COVID-19.
Data from the FDA revealed that those who got infected with COVID-19 more than 14 days after their second dose was only 242 or 0.0017 percent out of 13.8 million individuals inoculated with COVID-19 vaccines.
“Out of 13.8 million na fully vaccinated, sobrang konti lang ang nakakuha ng COVID-19. Saan ka pa tataya? Kung wala tayong bakuna laban sa COVID-19, mas marami pa ang puwedeng makakuha ng malalang sakit,” said FDA Director General Eric Domingo.
Moreover, out of the 33.3 million jabs, 0.18 percent had suspected adverse reactions. Of this number, only 0.006 percent were reported as a serious adverse reaction. The DOH and FDA said that the benefits of getting the COVID-19 vaccine continue to outweigh its risks.
“Magpabakuna po tayo kapag tayo ay eligible na upang maprotektahan natin ang ating sarili at pamilya laban sa COVID-19. Itong datos na nakalap ng FDA ay nagpapakita na safe at effective po ang ating mga bakunang may Emergency Use Authorization (EUA). Ngunit huwag nating kalilimutan na patuloy pa rin isagawa ang ating minimum public health standards kahit na tayo ay nabakunahan na,” said Health Secretary Francisco Duque III.
The DOH and FDA also encouraged individuals to report experiences of adverse reactions to the FDA website or their City Health Office (CHO).
