Kush worth almost P8 million seized in Pasay City

AROUND 5.7 kilos of “kush,” a high-grade variant of marijuana, worth around P7.9 million, was seized by the Bureau of Customs-Ninoy Aquino International Airport (BOC-NAIA) in Pasay City.

The BOC-NAIA, in collaboration with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and NAIA-Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group (NAIA-IADITG), confiscated the package hidden in 10 parcels at the Central Mail Exchange Center in Pasay City.

The seized kush was allegedly intended for various recipients.

It was turned over to the PDEA for investigation and filing of charges against those involved, who could potentially face violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (RA 9165) and Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (CMTA) or RA 10863.

According to BOC Commissioner Bienvenido Rubio, they have intensified their anti-drug vigilance as part of the campaign of the administration of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to keep the public safe.
