Manila Vice Mayor Chi Atienza, who serves as the Presiding Officer, said partnering with the Korea International Education Association (KIEA) will help create a scholarship program for young Manilans who can study and have opportunities to work in the country.

KIEA and the Manila Koreatown Association jointly proposed this initiative to provide comprehensive support for qualified young Manilans.

The vision of the program is to select qualified students from Manila, support them with a scholarship, study at a Korean university, and provide them with employment opportunities.

It aims to create a clear path for Filipino students to access quality education and new cultural experiences.

We want to give the youth of Manila a real chance to live their own Korean dream,” said a KIEA representative.

Meanwhile, Atienza encouraged those who want to study to stay informed about the unique opportunity.
