DOH-Calabarzon continues successful e-Learning sessions

The Department of Health (DOH) – CALABARZON (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) continues its string of successful webinars dubbed as “The 4A Series : e-Learning Sessions” which started on July 9, 2020.

“This is one way of reaching our clients not only in the region but also outside of our domain including local and international visitors who wants to learn and be updated with the latest information on health through our free e-learning sessions,” Regional Director Eduardo C. Janairo stated.

“Hindi dahil mayroon tayong pandemya at hihinto na tayong magtrabaho at magbigay ng serbisyong pangkalusugan na syang napakaimportante ngayon. Maraming paraan upang makapagbigay ng mahahalagang impormasyon at ito nga ay sa paraan ng pagtuturo sa ating mga health workers sa pamamagitan ng e-sessions o webinar,” he emphasized.

The regional office has already conducted 23 webinars on various essential topics including mental health, updates on Covid-19, family planning and oral health.

Janairo disclosed that in certain sessions, participants sometimes reached to as many as 500.

The webinars provide updates and information on the various issues and concerns on health and presented by leading health experts in the country sharing their expertise and technical knowledge.

Learning methods include short videos, power point slides and a Q and A portion after every topic.

A participant must register and answer a pre-test before he/she can be given access. A link will then be sent through email before the date of the webinar.

“Following the Covid-19 pandemic we decided to conduct webinars to provide health workers with a platform for connection to generate awareness, interventions and promotion of health programs,” Janairo added.

The 4A Series: eLearning Sessions with DOH-CALABARZON is being done in cooperation with the eTURO Project of the Institute of Philippine Culture of the Ateneo de Manila University.

It is facilitated by the Health Education and Promotion Unit of the regional office. In each session a participant can earn one hour of relevant training in the field of health governance provided he/she passes at least 80% of the post evaluation test.
