DILG Chief praises Khonghun vows stronger support for peace and public safety

Juanito Victor Remulla Jr., Secretary of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), commended the First District of Zambales for the consistent implementation of programs and projects that deliver direct and tangible benefits to local communities.

During a meeting with Jay Khonghun, Subic Mayor Jonathan Khonghun, Castillejos Mayor Jeffrey Khonghun, and Zambales Vice Governor Jacqueline Rose Khonghun, Remulla recognized the Khonghun family’s strong and commendable track record in public service.

The DILG chief said the department will allocate additional mobile patrol units for the police to further strengthen peace and order efforts in the district.
He emphasized that the discipline and sound governance demonstrated by local officials warrant increased support to enhance community security.

The meeting also tackled the provision of additional firefighting equipment for the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), as well as measures to address facility shortages of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP).

Remulla likewise expressed full support for Rep. Khonghun’s initiative to construct a new BJMP building and a covered court at Camp Cabal in Barangay Barretto—projects expected to improve services and facilities for the community.

Meanwhile, Remulla is scheduled to visit Zambales in March to personally ensure and reinforce the DILG’s continuing support for the province.
