InLife expands guaranteed issue coverage across three insurance products

Insular Life (InLife) is widening access to insurance coverage by extending its Guaranteed Issue Offer (GIO) across three products, a move aimed at simplifying applications and accelerating approvals amid persistent protection gaps among Filipinos.

Under the GIO program, applications are approved regardless of an applicant’s health or lifestyle profile. The offer applies to InLife’s Resilience critical illness plan until January 31, 2026, while Abundance and Wealth Assure Plus (WAP) will remain under the guaranteed issue scheme until December 31, 2026.

Coverage limits vary by product. Resilience is available under GIO for face amounts of up to Php 1 million, while WAP offers guaranteed issue coverage of up to Php 2 million. For Abundance, the guaranteed amount of up to Php 2 million will serve as the basis for future payouts and will be doubled in the event of death while the policy is in force. The expanded offer was announced by InLife Chief Product and Innovation Officer Jose Eduardo Ang during a recent Sales Kick-Off event by the company.

Alongside the GIO expansion, InLife said it has simplified and streamlined its application process, shortening approval times and allowing policyholders to secure coverage more quickly.

Ang said the initiative directly addresses three common barriers to insurance uptake: concerns over rejection due to health or lifestyle conditions, a perceived lack of urgency among younger and healthier individuals, and the complexity of application procedures.

Through the GIO campaign and our system and process enhancements, we are giving Filipinos more confidence to apply for life and health insurance,” Ang said.

The three products target different financial protection needs. Resilience provides cash payouts and health-related benefits following a diagnosis of a critical illness, helping offset the financial impact of major medical conditions. Abundance is an endowment plan that combines long-term protection with guaranteed payouts and a lump-sum benefit, while WAP is a life insurance product designed to build wealth through regular payments over time.

Under the GIO program, Filipinos aged 61 to 70 may also qualify for WAP coverage of up to Php 2 million, with a death benefit equivalent to five times the annual premium, provided they have not had any rated, postponed, or declined InLife applications in the past three years.

InLife Chief Marketing Officer Gae Martinez said the initiative reflects the company’s broader commitment to making financial protection more inclusive and accessible.

This is our way of assuring Filipinos that we are here to help them protect their health, grow their finances, and secure their families’ future at every stage of life,” Martinez noted, describing the GIO rollout as a timely start to the year.
