The Quezon City Police District (QCPD), under the leadership of Acting District Director PCOL Randy Glenn Silvio, through its District Community Affairs and Development Division (DCADD) led by PLTCOL Allan Docyogen, successfully marked the 1st anniversary of the Car-Free, Carefree Tomas Morato Sundays program at 6:00 a.m. on Sunday, December 7, 2025.
The highlight of the celebration was the “Walk for Clean Air” campaign, which started at the National Children’s Hospital with the theme “Walk for Clean Air: Walk for the Future, Walk for Our Children.” The activity was organized by Health Care Without Harm Southeast Asia and 350 Pilipinas. PCOL Silvio actively participated by biking alongside the marchers in a show of support for clean air advocacy.
Various wellness and recreational activities were also held along Scout Rallos Street, including Zumba, biking, skating, and jogging, as facilitated by QCPD to promote healthy living and strengthen community engagement.
To further promote public health and safety, the Quezon City Health Department (QCHD) set up a “Know Your BMI” station and a Mental Health Booth, offering free health services to attendees.
The anniversary celebration underscored the importance of collective community action in protecting public health and the environment. It aimed to raise awareness on the harmful effects of air pollution, highlight the need for stronger clean air policies, and encourage sustained efforts toward building healthier and more sustainable cities.
Silvio reaffirmed QCPD’s commitment to the initiative, saying, “We reaffirm our unwavering commitment to maintaining peace and order and to supporting programs that contribute to a cleaner, healthier, and more eco-friendly community.”
