Billease launches nationwide penalty waiver to help overdue borrowers recover

IN a sweeping move that could erase billions of pesos in accumulated fees, consumer finance platform Billease has rolled out a year-end amnesty program offering a full waiver of penalties for more than one million customers who have fallen behind on their payments.

Billease has unveiled its “Bagong Simula Promo (Christmas Amnesty 2025),” a nationwide initiative that gives eligible borrowers a chance to clear their overdue accounts without the burden of mounting late fees. The program, which runs until December 31, 2025, grants a 100-percent penalty waiver to customers who settle their remaining principal, interest, and standard charges within the promo period.

The company said the initiative is designed to support Filipinos still recovering from financial strain due to several challenges, while also strengthening repayment behavior and rebuilding customer relationships.

We understand that many Filipinos have faced financial challenges over the past years. This campaign is our way of helping customers make a fresh start, free from the weight of accumulated fees,” according to Georg Steiger, CEO and co-founder of Billease. “By removing these barriers, we aim to rebuild trust, improve repayment recovery, and re-engage customers who want to restore their financial standing.”

Under the program, customers with long-overdue accounts will receive a notice via email, push notification, or in-app message containing a unique offer code. Once they settle their dues through billease.ph, all penalty charges will be automatically waived—no special processing required.

Billease said clearing overdue balances through the Bagong Simula program could also help customers repair their credit records and support future credit score growth. For further assistance, users may contact Billease through the in-app chat or email [email protected].
