BI makes multiple arrests in separate areas

THREE illegal aliens were arrested by the Bureau of Immigration (BI) in separate operations in Makati, Pasay, and Benguet.

According to BI Intelligence Division (BI-ID) chief Fortunato Manahan Jr., Chinese national Fang Binbin, 39 years old, was nabbed last December 5 along Chino Roces in Makati City by a team from the BI Anti-Terrorist Group (ATG), in coordination with the Southern police, National Bureau of Investigation, Armed Forces of the Philippines, and government intelligence sources.

Fang was arrested on the strength of a mission order issued by BI Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado after the BI found out that Fang has already been overstaying. Intelligence reports received by the BI also state that Fang has been involved in illegal recruitment activities.

A few hours after on the same date, the BI-ID also arrested Hujie Nie, 26 years old, and Li Ying Long, 40 years old, along Villaruel Street in Pasay City. Even if both have working visas, they were found to be working for an establishment other than his petitioner and are allegedly involved in retailing in a seafood trading establishment in the area.

Lastly, the BI reported the arrest of Korean national Park Mounghoon, 51 years old, in La Trinidad, Benguet. When accosted, Park failed to present his documentation and was found to be overstaying and working without a permit.

All four aliens were brought to the BI’s head office in Intramuros, Manila for booking procedures and were later transferred to the agency’s holding facility inside Camp Bagong Diwa, Bicutan, Taguig City.
