THE Department of Health (DOH) logged 3,050 new cases today, lower than yesterday’s 3,792 based on the DOH COVID-19 Case Bulletin issued today, February 13, 2022.
Overall, the number of COVID-19 infections in the country to 3,637,280 cases.
Active cases continued its slide with only 81,394 cases today from yesterday’s 84,229. Active cases are patients undergoing treatment in government hospitals and temporary quarantine facilities.
After doubling yesterday, recoveries from COVID-19 today, however, was down again by almost half to 5,811 cases from yesterday’s 10,662 count, pushing overall COVID-19 recoveries in the country to the 3-million mark with 3,500,956 cases.
There were zero deaths reported today, according to the DOH, which it attributes to technical issues in extracting data from COVIDKaya so total COVID-19 deaths remain at 54,930. This issue has already been coordinated with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) and currently being addressed.
Positivity rate today, meanwhile, went down again to 11.7 percent from yesterday’s 14.3 percent with 31,403 people tested.
Also, 94.0 percent of the cases were mild and asymptomatic, the DOH bulletin noted.
A total of 138 duplicates were removed from the total case count, with 64 cases counted as recoveries.
All laboratories were operational on February 11, 2022, and two laboratories were not able to submit their data to the COVID-19 Document Repository System (CDRS). According to data in the last 14 days, the two laboratories contribute, on average, 0.2 percent of samples tested and 0.1 percent of positive individuals.
The agency continues to remind the public not to become complacent and continue to be vigilant against the threat of COVID-19 and make it a habit to follow the minimum public health standards and to always wear face masks, and also face shields whenever necessary, maintain physical distancing and washing of hands. The DOH also reiterates that the safety of the country is everyone’s responsibility, and that by helping each other, the country will overcome this COVID-19 pandemic.
