A TOTAL of 10 people were reported dead after a truck lost control in Zamboanga del Norte.
In a report from Police Regional Office 9 (PRO-9), the truck is loaded with copra products and passengers when it fell in a 20-meter deep ravine along the highway in Sitio Quary, Barangay Mamawan, Baliguian, Zamboanga del Norte yesterday at 6:30 a.m.
PRO-9 identified the fatalities as Ronaldo Hadjal, truck driver, Adjie Hadjal (truckman), and passengers Marcelina Humunong, Mesterio Suales, Insing Ompia, Analyn Bulong, Alicita Abong, Marciano Ansali, Jonie Salibat and Christy Sandigo.
Aside from the 10 who perished, eight people were also wounded, according to PRO-9.
The red truck with plate number JAD-247 came from Brgy. Milidan, Baliguian, Zamboanga del Norte and was on its way to Labas On, Zamboanga del Norte and was traversing a downhill portion of the highway when it reportedly lost its brakes that caused the tragedy.
