VOTERS not wearing face masks and face shields will not be allowed to vote during the May 9, 2022 elections.
According to Commission on Elections (Comelec) spokesperson James Jimenez, voters are still required to use face masks and face shields based on the Comelec’s latest guidelines related to voting.
He said that despite numerous complaints regarding the use of face shields, these are still a requirement so that people can vote.
However, the Comelec is already consulting the Department of Health regarding the face shield policy for the upcoming local and national elections this year.
For now, the use of face shields remain optional except when in public transportation and in other establishments that require its use.
