THE mix and match vaccination trials are currently underway in three cities in the National Capital Region (NCR).
The trials are being undertaken by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST).
During the Laging Handa public briefing, DOST Undersecretary Rowena Guevarra said that as of January 14, 2022, three areas are already conducting the mix-and-match trials.
Among these areas are the cities of Marikina, Manila, and Muntinlupa.
According to Guevarra, they were able to recruit and include in the study 347 individuals, who were administered with Sinovac for their first dose, while 184 got their second dose of either AstraZeneca, Moderna or Sputnik V.
Guevarra said they are also looking at two other areas where the mix-and-match vaccination trials will also be held.
She said that they are already coordinating with the local government units that has jurisdiction over the two areas.
