THE city government of Mandaluyong announced that Barangay Namayan is the first barangay in the city to reach 100-percent vaccination of individuals belonging to A1 to A5 priority groups.
Mayor Carmelita “Menchie” Abalos announced this achievement during the simultaneous holding of on-site vaccination and “Relax We’re Vaxed” sticker campaign at the Brgy. Namayan covered court.
The completion was achieved after the city has inoculated 70 percent of the barangay’s total population with the first dose, as well as all of its eligible senior citizens.
Mayor Abalos congratulated the residents of Namayan for responding to the call of the city to get vaccinated and help curb the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
“I hope other barangays would follow suit. Getting vaccinated is our best defense against COVID-19 right now along with the minimum health protocols,” she explained.
Mayor Abalos then proceeded to hand to Barangay Captain Dondon Francisco the “Relax We’re Vaxed” stickers after the announcement.
The barangay staff led by Francisco then proceeded to distribute the stickers to the barangay residents and establishments because of inclement weather.
The stickers will be attached to houses and establishments with all eligible household members and employees inoculated with at least the first dose.

In addition, health care kits were also distributed by the city government to resident pregnant women as part of the city’s health and nutrition campaign.
