An act of Joy and Thanksgiving

The Community Pantry started with a simple dream: to help those who have less in life tide things over, those greatly affected by the pandemic, those growing hungry and are struggling to make ends meet, that they may not have to worry about what to eat for their next meal.

The initiative was like a tidal wave, given tremendous support by other generous Filipinos who on their own may be struggling, but with big hearts and a genuine desire to help those who need it more than them.

This, perhaps, inspired J&T Express, a delivery service company, to come up with their own Community Pantry initiative, an activity that aims to celebrate joy and thanksgiving in helping out those trying hard to survive and in caring for them during these trying times.

From offering delivery services and helping online businesses, J&T Express expanded its services and decided to help their countrymen as it launched its very own “J&T Pantry.” Taking its cue from the “Maginhawa Community Pantry,” J&T Express started its own community pantry on its Muntinlupa Branch, which it started last April 21, 2021.

In this time of crisis, many Filipinos are grappling to survive the pandemic. J&T Express believes that during this challenging times it is important to stand strong and help one another. Aside from the items prepared by J&T Express, the J&T pantry was also fully supported by its employees, many of whom chose to personally donate items such as food and other basic essentials, to share with the community. This just shows how passionate the company and its employees are in helping those who are greatly affected by the pandemic through this simple act of kindness.

The first “J&T Pantry” at the J&T Express Muntinlupa branch is open from 9:00 AM onwards. Next in line to come up with their own Community Pantry are J&T Express Pilar, J&T Express Las Piñas, J&T Express Bernabe, J&T Express Parañaque, and J&T Express Taguig, to be followed by other Community Pantry initiatives in other branches nationwide.

A large number of items, from food to other basic essentials, are available at the “J&T Pantry” for “free” to everyone who needs it.

J&T Express, however, reminded the public who will go to the J&T Express Community Pantry to observe minimum public health standards and other safety protocols, such as the proper wearing of face masks and face shield. Strict compliance to IATF guidelines will also be observed.
