VP Sara subpoenaed by NBI over “kill” remarks

THE Office of the Vice President (OVP) confirmed receiving a subpoena from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on Tuesday afternoon, November 26, at its Mandaluyong City office.

The subpoena requires Vice President Sara Duterte to appear at the NBI headquarters in Manila on Friday, November 29, as part of an investigation into allegations of grave threats and potential violations of the Anti-Terrorism Act.

The NBI had earlier requested Facebook to preserve a video allegedly showing VP Duterte claiming she had contracted someone to assassinate the President, First Lady Liza Marcos, and House Speaker Martin Romualdez.

The video is being treated as critical evidence in the investigation.

Attempts to serve the subpoena at the House of Representatives on Monday, November 25, were unsuccessful.

NBI personnel arrived at the Batasan Complex in Quezon City late in the evening, but by the time they coordinated with the House Sergeant-at-Arms, Duterte had already left the premises.
