VARIOUS personalities, sectoral leaders and organizations from Central Luzon gathered on August 2, 2021 at Mavins Events Center, San Leonardo, Nueva Ecija to launch the Central Luzon for Senator Ping Lacson and express their full support in his presidential bid in the national election next year.
According to Teofilo “Ka Bodgie” Juatco, spokesperson of the group, after 5 years of incompetent and directionless governance, what the country needs is a national leader who has “TAPANG, TALINO AT KATAPATAN”.
He said it is useless for a leader if he has courage but does not have intelligence or is intelligent but does not have the courage to stand up for his principles.
Since his stint as the Director-General of the PNP and as a Senator, Senator Ping has consistently opposed and exposed corruption, particularly on pork barrel funds. He never used his pork barrel fund and because of this P12 billion in taxpayers’ money was saved in 12 years and the money was used for important social services.
The leaders also praised the Senator for his strong defense of the Arbitral Ruling regarding the West Philippine Seas and his condemnation of the interference of China in the said area.
“Senator Lacson”, according to Juatco “is one of the strongest voices in the Senate urging the administration to protect the rights and welfare of small fisherfolks against China.”
To show their strong support for Senator Lacson, the sectoral leaders and individuals rang their bells which is a symbol of the consistent and reliable services the Filipino masses can expect from Senator Lacson.
They also signed a Manifesto of support to show their support for Senator Ping Lacson.
The Central Luzon for Ping Lacson is composed of sectoral leaders from farmers, landless rural workers, fisherfolks, youth, women, small businessmen/women and former government officials who united with each other to promote the sovereignty of the country, oppose corruption, support science-based programs to stop the pandemic and raise the living condition of Filipinos.
