Camp Olivas, City of San Fernando, Pampanga — In a swift and coordinated operation, law enforcement officers in Central Luzon arrested a man accused of killing his stepson and attempting to murder his wife, just 36 hours after the brutal crime took place in Lubao, Pampanga.
The suspect, identified only as “Harold,” was captured on April 4, 2025, following a relentless manhunt launched by the Lubao Municipal Police Station, the Pampanga Police Intelligence Unit, and the Pampanga SWAT. The suspect had gone into hiding at the residence of his uncle, “Ronald,” in Brgy. San Roque Dau 1st, Lubao, where authorities moved in at around 12:30 PM and apprehended him.
Ronald was also arrested for Obstruction of Justice after allegedly helping his nephew evade capture.
Authorities recovered a hand grenade and two mobile phones from the suspect’s belongings. “Harold” now faces multiple charges, including Homicide, Attempted Homicide under Republic Act 9262 (Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act), and violation of Republic Act 9516 (Illegal Possession of Firearms, Ammunition, and Explosives). His uncle will likewise face charges for obstructing justice.
PBGEN Jean S. Fajardo, Regional Director of Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3), praised the swift response and coordination of the operating units.
“The rapid capture of ‘Harold’ speaks volumes about our commitment to protecting the people and bringing criminals to justice—fast and without compromise,” Fajardo stated. “Violent crimes leave deep scars on families and communities, and we will not rest until those responsible are held accountable.”
With the suspect now in custody, authorities in Central Luzon reaffirm their unwavering dedication to public safety and the relentless pursuit of justice.
