Police have solved in just two days the daylight killing of a 43-year-old businessman inside his laundry shop in Barangay Bagbag, Novaliches, on September 1, 2025.
The Quezon City Police District (QCPD), under Acting District Director PCOL Randy Glenn Silvio, identified the suspect as “Mike Joey,” 43, a Move It rider and resident of Barangay Baesa, Quezon City.
Initial investigation showed the suspect, clad in a black raincoat and a red “Move It” helmet, entered the victim’s shop around 8:59 a.m. and shot him multiple times before fleeing on a red Honda Click motorcycle.
He also allegedly snatched the victim’s gold necklace worth ₱145,000.
A Special Investigation Team formed by QCPD used CCTV backtracking, hot pursuit operations, and coordination with various police units to trace the suspect.
Footage later showed him at Sabina Market, where he reportedly brought the stolen necklace to a goldsmith. His getaway motorcycle, registered under his wife, was also identified.
On September 3, composite tracker teams cornered and arrested the suspect at Sitio Pajo Market, Barangay Baesa.
His wife later surrendered key evidence, including the motorcycle, tampered plate number, raincoat, helmets, and other items used in the crime.
The suspect is now under police custody and faces charges of robbery with homicide and violation of Republic Act 11235, or the Motorcycle Crime Prevention Act, before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.
