QCPD reaches 3,945 beneficiaries through 75 community engagement activities

THE Quezon City Police District (QCPD), under the leadership of Acting District Director P/Col. Melecio Buslig Jr., successfully conducted 75 community engagement activities from November 22 to 28, 2024, benefiting a total of 3,945 individuals.

These initiatives were spearheaded by the District Community Affairs and Development Division (DCADD), led by its chief, P/Col. Geoffrey N. Fernandez, in collaboration with the District Mobile Force Battalion (DMFB), Police Stations 1-16, stakeholders, and advocacy support groups.

The activities included a series of lectures aimed at raising awareness on crucial topics such as Community Anti-Terrorism Awareness (CATA), Anti-Illegal Drug Awareness, Crime Prevention Safety Tips, the Safe Spaces Act, Bomb Awareness, R.A. 9262 (Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004), R.A. 8353, Human Rights, Gender Sensitivity and Equality, and R.A. 10627 (Anti-Bullying Act of 2013).

Participants were also introduced to the eGovPH app, a tool for reporting crimes through the Philippine National Police’s Law Enforcement Reporting Information System (LERIS).

The program also featured livelihood opportunities, free haircuts, and the distribution of food packs and educational materials.

“Our community engagement activities are a vital step in strengthening our relationship with the community. We aim to broaden the awareness of our QCitizens in combating crime, illegal drugs, and deceptive recruitment by the CPP/NPA/NDF,” said Buslig.
