IN line with the directives of Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief, Police General Rommel Francisco Marbil, and Acting Regional Director of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), Police Brigadier General Anthony Aberin, to intensify efforts against all forms of criminality, the Quezon City Police District (QCPD), under the leadership of Police Colonel Melecio Buslig Jr., continues to demonstrate its unwavering commitment to safeguarding communities.
This dedication bore fruit in a successful operation conducted earlier today by the Cubao Police Station (PS) 7, which resulted in the arrest of two suspects and the confiscation of ₱1,360,000 worth of shabu.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Ramon Solas, Station Commander of PS 7, identified the suspects as Ericka Joy Sibog, 24, and Jonathan De Leon, 22, both residents of Barangay Bambang, Angeles City, Pampanga. Reports indicate that at around 7:10 AM, PS 7 operatives, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-National Capital Region (PDEA-NCR), conducted a buy-bust operation near No. 629 Sogo Hotel, EDSA Southbound, Barangay San Martin de Porres, Cubao, Quezon City.
An undercover police officer posed as a buyer and purchased ₱50,000 worth of shabu from one of the suspects. Upon receiving the pre-arranged signal, operatives immediately apprehended both individuals.
Recovered during the operation were approximately 200 grams of shabu valued at ₱1,360,000, two mobile phones, and the marked buy-bust money.
The suspects will face charges for violating Republic Act No. 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
“I commend the operatives of PS 7, led by Lt. Col. Solas, for this successful operation. We will continue our relentless campaign against illegal drugs to eradicate this menace and achieve a drug-free community—not just in Quezon City, but throughout Metro Manila,” stated Police Colonel Buslig.
