It was reported that PCG and LGU personnel, who were on their way to Dapitan City from Selinog Island, spotted the individuals near a submerged motorbanca and immediately conducted a rescue operation.

The passengers were composed of eight adults, two infants and two children.

According to them, they departed Purok Langaman in Talisay, going to Rizal Shrine, Dapitan City, when the motorbanca’s outrigger was accidentally damaged and caused it to submerge.
