PCG joins multi-agency sendoff for BSKE 2023

THE Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) joined the simultaneous multi-agency send-off ceremony held today at the Philippine National Police (PNP) Grandstand, Camp Crame in Quezon City.

Several teams from the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), PNP, and the Department of Education (DepEd) were in attendance, with the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) as the lead agency. These teams were sent off in connection with the upcoming Baranggay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE), which will be held on October 30, 2023.

PCG Deputy Commandant for Operations, CG Vice Admiral Rolando Lizor Punzalan, Jr., reaffirmed the Coast Guard’s commitment to ensuring free, orderly, honest, and peaceful elections and stated that Coast Guard K9 teams, medical teams, security teams, floating assets, and land vehicles are all prepared for election-related deployments across the country.

May the facilitation towards safe and secure election by your AFP, PNP, PCG, DepEd and Comelec serve as a shining example of collaboration and dedication to the service of our nation,” CG Vice Admiral Punzalan expressed.

May we all work together toward a successful, peaceful and meaningful election,” he added.

Also present during the send-off ceremony were AFP Security Task Force 2023 BSKE Commander, Lieutenant General Charlton Sean Gaerlan; PNP Chief, Police General Benjamin Acorda, Jr.; DepEd Undersecretary for Operations, Atty. Revsee Escobedo; and COMELEC Chairman George Erwin Garcia.
