MANILA, PHILIPPINES—The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has issued its 24-hour public weather forecast, warning of adverse weather conditions due to the Northeast Monsoon and a Shear Line.
Weather Overview:
Batanes: Cloudy skies with rains are expected, caused by the Northeast Monsoon, which may result in possible flash floods or landslides, especially during heavy rains.
Central Luzon, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, and the rest of Cagayan Valley: These areas will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and isolated thunderstorms due to the Shear Line, posing risks of flash floods and landslides.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country: Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms caused by localized thunderstorms could bring similar hazards.
Wind and Coastal Water Conditions:
Extreme Northern Luzon: Strong to gale-force winds coming from the northeast will cause rough coastal waters with wave heights ranging from 2.8 to 4.5 meters.
The rest of Northern Luzon and eastern Central Luzon: Moderate to strong winds from the northeast will lead to moderate to rough coastal conditions with waves between 2.5 and 4.5 meters.
The rest of the country: Winds are expected to be light to moderate, with slight to moderate coastal waters (0.6 to 2.5 meters in wave height).
Temperature and Humidity:
Metro Manila recorded a maximum temperature of 30.1°C at 2:00 PM yesterday, with a minimum of 25.3°C at 6:30 AM. Relative humidity peaked at 90% at 6:00 AM and dropped to 70% by 2:00 PM.
