THE National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) has reported significant progress in its crime prevention and law enforcement efforts over the past week, highlighting a continued commitment to public safety and security.
From November 24 to 30, 2024, Metro Manila recorded a 17.52% decrease in crime incidents compared to the previous week, demonstrating the NCRPO’s effectiveness in maintaining peace and order.
Key Operational Milestones
- Apprehension of Wanted Individuals
The NCRPO arrested 337 individuals, including 137 Most Wanted Persons (MWPs) and 200 Other Wanted Persons (OWPs), through intensified operations. - Anti-Illegal Drug Operations
A total of 181 anti-drug operations were conducted during the week, resulting in the arrest of 287 individuals and the seizure of illegal substances with an estimated street value of ₱32,340,779.00, including:
4,750.82 grams of shabu
167.65 grams of marijuana
11.87 grams of kush
- Anti-Illegal Gambling Campaign
Authorities conducted 187 operations against illegal gambling, leading to the arrest of 449 individuals and the confiscation of gambling paraphernalia and proceeds valued at ₱114,147.50. - Crackdown on Illegal Firearms
In preparation for the 2025 National and Local Elections, the NCRPO launched 25 operations targeting the illegal possession of firearms, resulting in the seizure of 25 firearms and the arrest of 25 individuals.
Leadership and Strategic Direction
Acting NCRPO Regional Director PBGEN Anthony A. Aberin attributed these accomplishments to the application of the “AAA” policing principles, which emphasize ABLE, ACTIVE, and ALLIED characteristics in the police force.
“Our strategy involves increasing police visibility in key areas, employing innovative crime reduction approaches, and conducting intelligence-driven operations. Strengthening the partnership between the police and the community remains a cornerstone of our efforts to ensure a safer and more secure Metro Manila,” said Aberin.
The NCRPO reaffirmed its commitment to proactive and collaborative policing to sustain these gains and further enhance public safety in the region.
