Pursuant to President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos, Jr.’s directive to take action against errant drivers and uphold road safety, the Land Transportation Office (LTO), under the leadership of Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Vince Dizon, has ordered social media personality Yanna Motovlog to surrender her driver’s license.
LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Atty. Vigor D. Mendoza II stated that this directive is part of the sanctions following Yanna Motovlog’s involvement in a road rage incident that occurred recently in Zambales.
“We imposed a 90-day preventive suspension on her driver’s license as part of the ongoing investigation. Due to her absence during the hearing, we instructed her, through her legal counsel, to surrender her license. This action is ultimately for her own protection and to preserve the integrity of the investigation,” said Asec. Mendoza.
During the hearing held on Tuesday, May 6, LTO Intelligence and Investigation Division (IID) Chief Renante Melitante instructed Yanna Motovlog’s legal counsel to surrender her driver’s license by 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 8.
Her legal counsel cited security concerns as the reason for her absence, explaining that she had received numerous threats and online abuse, particularly after her personal information was disclosed on social media.
Nevertheless, Yanna Motovlog submitted a letter to the LTO apologizing to the pick-up driver involved in the incident, his family, and the public for her behavior. She expressed her willingness to accept the penalties the LTO may impose.
The pick-up driver, who also attended the hearing, shared that he initially intended to move on from the incident. However, he was compelled to respond when a group of riders, including Yanna Motovlog, allegedly waited for him, prompting a confrontation that revealed she was the rider involved—a moment that was captured in a viral video.
During the same session, Chief Melitante scheduled a follow-up hearing on May 8. Yanna Motovlog was instructed not only to surrender her license but also to present the motorcycle used during the incident for inspection.
It was revealed that the motorcycle involved in the road rage case was not registered under Yanna Motovlog’s name.
