In line with President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s directive to uphold road safety and discipline, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) has summoned popular motorcycle vlogger Yanna Moto Vlog following a road rage incident in Zambales that recently went viral on social media.
LTO Chief, Assistant Secretary Atty. Vigor D. Mendoza II, said Yanna Moto Vlog is being asked to explain why her driver’s license should not be suspended or revoked for allegedly displaying behavior unbecoming of a licensed driver, potentially making her an “improper person” to operate a motor vehicle.
“We have long reminded our millions of motorists that anger has no place on the road—and we have penalized many for such behavior,” said Asec. Mendoza.
“As a social media personality, she should have used her influence to promote responsible driving, not the opposite,” he added.
The LTO’s Social Media Team monitored the viral video, which showed the vlogger making an obscene hand gesture (a middle finger) toward the driver of a pick-up truck. She claimed the driver was reckless, but the video later captured the pick-up driver calmly confronting her and explaining that road conditions made normal driving difficult. Despite the explanation, the vlogger continued to argue and made insulting remarks even after the other party walked away.
Department of Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon has reaffirmed the government’s stance against reckless and irresponsible driving, stressing that ensuring the safety of all road users is a top priority amid rising incidents of road rage and traffic accidents.
Although Yanna Moto Vlog has since issued a public apology following widespread criticism online, Asec. Mendoza confirmed that the LTO investigation will proceed to determine the appropriate sanctions, if any.
