FOR the third straight day, new COVID-19 cases today remained at the 5k level with a 5,675 count, slightly lower than yesterday’s 5,881 total, according to the latest Department of Health COVID-19 Case Bulletin issued today, July 10, 2021.
Also, the total number of COVID-19 infections in the country reached 1,467,119, with 49,968 listed as active cases or patients who are undergoing treatment in government hospitals and temporary quarantine facilities.
The DOH also logged 7,552 new recoveries from the COVID-19 disease today, more than double the 3,003 recoveries recorded yesterday.
Currently, there are now 1,391,335 individuals listed as total recoveries.
A total of 96 cases were added to the list of COVID-19 deaths today, slightly higher than the 70 cases recorded yesterday. This brings to 25,816 the total number of COVID-19 fatalities.
Moreover, 42 cases previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths upon final validation.
There were 11 duplicates removed from the total case count, of which eight were recoveries.
Meanwhile, positivity rate is at 11.0 percent from 50,704 people who were tested.
Majority, or 94.4 percent of the cases, are mild and asymptomatic.
All laboratories were operational on July 8, 2021 while three laboratories were not able to submit their data to the COVID-19 Document Repository System (CDRS). Based on data in the last 14 days, the three non-reporting laboratories contribute, on average, 0.7 percent of samples tested and 0.4 percent of positive individuals.
The DOH continues to remind the public to strictly observe the Minimum Public Health Standards to ensure the safe recovery of our country. The moment any symptoms of COVID-19 are experienced, coordinate immediately with the BHERTs (Barangay Health Emergency Response Teams) or with the One COVID Referral Center.
The agency reiterates that the safety of the country is everyone’s responsibility, and that by helping each other, the country will overcome this COVID-19 pandemic.
