The Social Security System (SSS) has released a total of P18.8 billion in 13th month pensions to more than 3.66 million pensioners, fulfilling the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., as reinforced by Finance Secretary Frederick D. Go and the Social Security Commission. The annual cash gift was credited in two batches during the first week of December to provide additional holiday support to beneficiaries.
The first batch, released on 1 December 2025, covered around 2.13 million pensioners, amounting to P10.5 billion. The second batch, credited on 4 December, benefited 1.53 million pensioners with a total of P8.3 billion.
SSS President and CEO Robert Joseph M. de Claro said the annual distribution underscores the institution’s commitment to uplift the welfare of pensioners.
“This is our way of giving back to our pensioners who have contributed to the System during their productive years. We hope this additional benefit brings joy and relief to them and their families this Christmas,” de Claro said.
This year’s 13th month pension also reflects higher amounts for pensioners as of 31 August 2025, following the implementation of the SSS Pension Reform Program in September 2025. Under the new scheme, retirement and disability pensioners received a 10% increase, while survivorship pensioners received a 5% increase, aimed at improving long-term financial security.
The 13th month pension is automatically credited to eligible SSS pensioners, including those receiving retirement, disability, and survivorship benefits. SSS reminded pensioners to keep their bank details updated to avoid delays.
The agency also reaffirmed its commitment to sound financial management. The Commission on Audit (COA) issued an unmodified opinion for 2024, confirming SSS’ financial integrity and adherence to governance standards. The agency noted that it continues to address specific audit observations through established corrective measures.
