A NEW head of the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) was named by Malacañang on Saturday.
Bernie Cruz will take over as the new DAR chief. He replaces John Castriciones, who will run for senator in next year’s national polls.
Cruz was the former DAR undersecretary for foreign-assisted and special projects.
“The Palace confirms that President Rodrigo Roa Duterte signed last October 28, 2021 the appointment of Mr. Bernie Ferrer Cruz as Acting Secretary of the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR),” Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said in a statement.
Roque believes Cruz has the capability to “continue to oversee the completion of DAR’s programs and projects in the remaining months of the current government.”
