After her impresive win two days ago, Pinay boxer Nesthy Petecio beats the No. 1 seed Lin Yu-Ting of Chinese Taipei via split decision today in the ongoing 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Petacio advances to the Women’s Featherweight Quarterfinals and is only two wins away to the elusive gold medal.
The win came an hour after Carlo Paalam also scored a win his Olympic debut against Brendan Irvine of Ireland in the Men’s Flyweight Round of 32 and moves to the Round of 16!
Also in the round of 16 are FIlipina Boxer Irish Magno and top amateur boxer Eumir Marcial.
