A man in Tanjay City, Negros Oriental, was shocked and even frightened when he saw the appearance of a piglet born to his pet sow.
According to a video from a TV news network, Alfredo Cardinas Jr.’s pet pig gave birth to a total of eight piglets.
Among the eight, the fourth piglet to be born had a strange appearance resembling a human face and even made sounds similar to a human.
“When I saw it, I got scared. I heard its sound and was shocked by it,” said Alfredo. “It made a sound like ‘O,’ like a baby’s voice.”
The piglet’s facial features were incomplete, but it was alive at birth. The other piglets appeared normal.
Four hours after being born, the unusual-looking piglet died and was buried.
This was not the first time Alfredo’s sow had given birth to an oddly shaped piglet.
He claimed that they had previously had a piglet that appeared to have wings.
According to a veterinarian, the piglet with a human-like face may have been born prematurely or suffered from a developmental abnormality during the sow’s pregnancy.
The veterinarian also dismissed speculation that another animal may have impregnated the sow.
