Eid’l Adha on July 9 a regular holiday — Palace

MALACAÑANG declared that July 9, 2022 will be a regular holiday in observation of Eid’l Adha, a Muslim holiday also known as the “Feast of Sacrifice.”

President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. approved Proclamation No. 2, which declared the feast as a holiday in the entire country.

The proclamation, signed by Executive Secretary Victor Rodriguez, states that the observance of the feast “shall be subject to the public health measures of the national government.”

Eid’l Adha is known to be one of the two greatest feasts of Islam, the other being Eid’l Fitr, which commemorates the end of Ramadan, which is observed by Muslims worldwide as a month of fasting, prayer, reflection and community.
