DOH reports 5,683 COVID-19 infections today

The Philippines logged only 5,683 new COVID-19 cases today, according to the latest bulletin of the Department of Health (DOH) issued today, May 4, 2021.

This brings the total number of COVID-19 cases to 1,067,892.

Around 9,028, meanwhile, survived the disease for a total of 984,210 recoveries, and 97 individuals succumbed to the disease for a total of 17,622 deaths.

Fifteen 15 duplicates were also removed from the total case count, where 11 were tagged as recoveries.

One case was also found to have tested negative and was removed from the total case count and declared a recovery.

Moreover, 40 cases that were previously identified as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation.

All laboratorie were operational on May 2, 2021 while 21 failed to submit their data to the COVID-19 Document Repository System (CDRS).
