COTABATO CITY–The Ministry of Trade, Investments and Tourism (MTIT) of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) is stepping up its monitoring and inspection procedures for all retailers in the Bangsamoro region.
The activity is being done to ensure that all retailers in the region are complying with the rice price ceiling mandated in Executive Order (EO) 39 issued by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
On September 11, a team from MTIT has begun conducting daily monitoring in major public markets, and even small grocery stores in Cotabato City.
According to Hussein Biruar, director of MTIT’s Bureau of Trade and Industry, the ministry will make sure that retailers in the region are compliant with the price cap.
Further, MTIT also created a Joint Price Monitoring Task Force to fully implement the said EO.
