Mariveles, Bataan — The Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) takes another step toward digital transformation with the introduction of its first service robot, KettyBot, inside its Administration Building.
A new era of smart assistance has arrived at the Freeport. The compact yet capable KettyBot now roams the halls of the AFAB headquarters—greeting guests, delivering informational materials, playing cheerful tunes, and even sharing the latest Freeport updates.
Developed with artificial intelligence and precision navigation, KettyBot is equipped with an 18.5-inch interactive display, voice interaction features, and intelligent obstacle-avoidance sensors. It can carry up to 30 kilograms of materials and autonomously return to its charging dock when not in use. Beyond its practical functions, the robot also serves as a mobile display screen for announcements and event highlights, adding a modern touch to visitor engagement.
“KettyBot symbolizes our commitment to innovation and service efficiency,” AFAB officials said, noting that the robot represents a small but meaningful step toward smarter, more adaptive government operations. “Technology should make work easier, communication faster, and public service more engaging—and that’s exactly what KettyBot helps us achieve.”
While the program is still in its pilot phase, the introduction of KettyBot demonstrates AFAB’s readiness to embrace high-technology solutions that improve both productivity and public experience. The move aligns with the Freeport’s broader vision of building a digitally enabled ecosystem—one that fosters innovation, sustainability, and future-ready governance.
At a time when many government institutions continue to rely on traditional systems, AFAB’s bold experiment with robotics marks it as one of the few agencies actively integrating automation into everyday operations. It’s a glimpse of how public service can evolve—efficient, interactive, and powered by innovation.
