RTWPB Region 9 approves P35 wage hike for daily wage earners in Zamboanga Peninsula

THE Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) Region IX approved a P35 wage hike to minimum wage earners in the Zamboanga Peninsula.

According to the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), the old P303 wage for agricultural workers will become P338 per day, while for non-agricultural workers, it will now be P351 per day from the previous P316 daily wage.

The RTWPB of Zamboanga Peninsula also approved a P500 additional pay for the monthly wages of a domestic helper, from P3,500 in chartered cities and first-class municipalities to P4,000 for domestic helpers in the Zamboanga Peninsula.

The wage hike will be implemented once the order is approved by the national wage board and the order published in a regional newspaper.
