RIZAL Commercial Banking Corporation (RCBC) has partnered with Digital Edge to migrate its production systems to NARRA1, the country’s largest true carrier-neutral data center. The move marks a major step in RCBC’s digital transformation as it prepares for rising digital transactions, stricter cybersecurity demands, and the financial sector’s shift to Artificial Intelligence (AI) and hybrid-cloud environments.
The agreement was formalized by RCBC President and CEO Reggie Carioso, CIO John Alabastro, Digital Edge Philippines President and CEO Vic Barrios, and Threadborne Group Chairman Charlie Rufino.
As part of its 2026 roadmap, RCBC is strengthening resilience and compliance across its mission-critical systems. Migrating to NARRA1—engineered for Tier 3 availability, dual-power redundancy, and banking-grade security—will help the bank support growing workloads and ensure 24/7 customer access to digital services.
“NARRA1 gives us the capacity, efficiency, and security that a fast-scaling bank requires,” explains Alabastro.
NARRA1 is powered fully by renewable energy and holds BERDE, IFC EDGE, and LEED Gold certifications. Recognized for its energy-efficient design, it has become a preferred hub for high-density, regulated workloads in the Philippines.
Barrios pointed out that RCBC’s decision reflects a broader shift in the financial sector toward modern, cloud-ready, and sustainable infrastructure. “We are ready to support RCBC and the wider financial community as they advance their digital capabilities,” he pointed out.
The partnership positions RCBC to meet the next wave of innovation and resiliency requirements as it accelerates toward its 2026 digital goals.
