NINETY hog-raisers affected by the African Swine Flu (ASF) have been given financial assistance under the ASF indemnification program of the Department of Agriculture (DA) in Samal, Bataan.
According to Samal Mayor Aida Macalinao, each received P5,000 for each pig affected by ASF but was limited to up to twenty pigs so in total, the amount of benefit distributed reached P5,300,000.00.
Witnessed the distribution of aid by officers and personnel of the Department of Agriculture Region 3, Bataan Provincial Veterinarian Dr. Alberto Venturina, Municipal Agriculturist Ms. Nora Medina and Municipal Agriculture Office staff.
Mayor Macalinao thanked all those who assisted in organizing such an activity and in striving to provide competent assistance to Samaleñong hog-raisers who have been affected by the ASF livelihood.
He said that this financial assistance was successfully distributed because he also guided the action and care program of Samal LGU.
“We know that what they went through was very difficult because when the ASF happened, we followed him with the entry of the COVID-19 Pandemic. , “ the Mayor added.
