Forced evacuation ordered to Sorsogon residents living in coastal, low lying areas as Typhoon “Quinta” makes landfall

THE Sorsogon provincial government has ordered the forced evacuation of all residents living near the coastal, lowlands and landslide prone areas as a precaution against Typhoon “Quinta” which already makes landfall in Visayas region.

According to Sorsogon Governor Chiz Escudero, he has also ordered the use of evacuation centers in schools that are being use for quarantine.

The governor said that he reminded his constituents to observe the minimum health protocol as it will be strictly enforced within the evacuation centers where only two families are allowed in the rooms.

Meanwhile, vessels traveling to the provincial ports have also been canceled.

Apart from the province’s 911 emergency hotline, some local governments have also provided emergency numbers to deal with the possible catastrophes brought by typhoon “Quinta.”
